I learned an important fact last night while watching the TV show “Have I Got News For You.” Our Govenor from Virginia was a guest. The MC, Roy Wood Jr., asked her how he should address her she said that Virginia was a Commonwealth and her official title was “Excellency”, but (being a person of the people) she said Governor was fine.
Fine? Fine! Are you kidding me? Okay, I’l let it go because this was for all intent and purposes an informal setting, but had this been something official, like say – meeting the President – Then she would have to insist on her titile. Well, not her actually, her minister of ettiquette. And just to make sure no one was so rude as to address her any other way I think she should have two big burly flagelators standing on either side of her (and maybe a half step back) so if anyone so much as – well, you get the idea.
Listen, some radicals in some religions insist and saying “all power and glory to him” before they mention the name of their beloved leader messiah whatever. And if you draw a picture of him (or is it their god?) then they come after you and try and kill you. I’m going light here.
Imagine if you will, Stephen Miller getting some old school Excellency discipline. For what? For having the audacity to call her informally “Governor.” He has no idea how tough we can be. This is the south after all.
