Day 766 Monday February 11, 2019

630 Days to the 2020 election and 708 Days to Inauguration Day

Review of the Media:

A friend of mine, who from time to time sends me links and articles about terrible things happening politically and economically as seen through the lens of – I’m not sure what to call it – conservatism? Right wing hysteria? Anti-progressivism? He seems to be on the forefront of whatever the right-wing media is pushing. He was yelling about the anti-favs when that was in. Now, it’s AOC. Apparently, Ms Andria Ocasio-Cortez has lit a fire on the left. She must be brought down as soon as possible. I got the notice from my friend which said in part “Have you seen AOC’s Green New Deal? One thing that troubles me is her saying she wants TO PRINT MONEY!” He went on to say AOC says her site was hacked. And ended with a “Yeah, right.”

I couldn’t stop myself. I should have, but letting such garbage out there without challenge is a problem because it creates an impression that what they say is true. I asked wasn’t it possible that the party of Lee Atwater, Roger Ailes, Karl Rove, and other dirty tricksters like Roger Stone could have in fact hacked her site?

Well, yes, maybe was the reply WATCH THIS SPACE! by the way Andria Ocasio-Cortez is as dangerous as Lenin!!!

I looked up about AOC Green New Deal and it being hacked etc. I found two sources, both right wing or right leaning newspapers: The Hill and The Examiner, that were reporting the story. Why weren’t others reporting it? Maybe, it’s not a real story? FAKE NEWS! Collusion! OMG, gag me with a spoon.

Now another of his relatives has chimed in with AOC and “the horrors of collectivism.”

This reminds me of the unrelenting smear campaign against Hillary Clinton. Her problem seemed to be she was smarter that anyone in the room when it came to doing something and they didn’t like that, especially when she called them out on there silliness.

I asked these folks if they disagreed with her premise of taxing the ultra rich more, or of attacking climate change? WATCH THIS SPACE!

In other media stuff:

AMI’s lawyers say what they did to Bezos wasn’t blackmail but journalism! Wow. who knew?

The Grammys were last night. A celebration of high class bad taste in many cases. I couldn’t decide what look was “in” this year for women’s clothing. Was it the large puffy skirt part, or the upper huge wrap? Was it the corset swimsuit look? For me the one I’ll go with is the black swimsuit with see-thru skirt to mid-calf where the dress turned into a black dust mop that reminded me of Mortica Addams’ dress. There was the woman who when she started singing the camera was close-up on her face. She had a 1920s bob and restrained silver necklace – very classy. I thought perhaps she was a jazz singer. But then the camera pulled back and she was wearing a black one piece corset/swimsuit and knee high black boots with lingerie fringe tops. She was playing electric guitar and was very good. She sang a duet with Dua Linga (or some name like that.) I couldn’t tell if this was supposed to be lesbian vamping or what. Earlier Drake took an award and got cut off. Just because he said, “Fuck the Grammys.” Yeah. I’d cut him off too. Okay his point was if your making music and people are digging it you don’t need the Grammys. Hey, but it helps. What’s really weird about such statements is how much these rappers talk about “respect.” Yet, show little themselves. There was a segment showing all the stuff the organization is doing to promote music and musicians.

What ever happened to class? ie being classy and restrained? It doesn’t get you noticed. You gotta wear a meat dress or something. Too bad. I miss a good looking couple dressed to the nines being at a show like this. Instead we have these weird huge dresses and rude behavior. We have young uneducated kids who can’t speak without foul or ungrammatical language. What was that guy doing standing next to Cardi B chewing gum?

Rap is I think like the food channel’s challenges of a deconstructed something or other.

HER with her album, not an album but something else, called H.E.R. WTF? She has a nice voice, but like so much of the music the words either are incoherent or don’t make much sense.

I found it odd (funny?) that many of these new artists were up there accepting their award, thank their crew, and giving a shout out to one name or the other and here were these old white guys standing behind them. Obviously, the men putting up the money.

Weird.

Dolly Parton’s act brought down the house. As did many of the older names. Then the tribute to MoTown done by J Lo? I didn’t have a big problem with it. I wasn’t paying that much attention, but why not get someone more suitable?
