Haven’t had time to write. Been on the move. I’m in Maine now. Settling in. Repainting the house. I’m the go-fer.
The other day I saw a short bed truck, no cab, maybe it was a jeep. There was an American flag on one side and another flag that read: Trump; 2020; No More Bullshit.
Or maybe the third line was No Bullshit. I don’t recall. It doesn’t matter.
All I could think was, that’s all he’s got is bullshit.
It’s the classic schoolyard bully scenario. “You’re the bully”, “No you’re the bully.”
Whatever you accuse him of he accuses you of. When confronted he accuses. When accused he deflects.
I ran around to a gamut of hardware and big box stores yesterday. All the people wearing “Trump 2020” shirts, and there were a lot, did not have masks. Everyone else pretty much did.
Rank stupidity. Herd immunity? No, I think the Trump breed will die, and whither away before that happens. Not completely, but it may get tampted down. Bending the curve as it were.
Meanwhile what else has happened?
Trump has sidelined Fauci and raised up some Fox News idiot to speak in Fauci’s place. Plus he’s got the My Pillow guy and a host of other foolish people to speak at the RNC convention. I don’t know what they’ve got planned. It will be interesting to see. It will be hard to top what the Dems have done this week, which I think may be the wave of the future as far as conventions go.
If we keep going in the direction the Democratic Convention went we might end up with people talking policy and ideas. Imagine that!
Meanwhile the Republican underlings doing Trump’s bidding are saying that nothing is undermining the Post Office, while the president is saying he won’t give the Post Office money and they won’t be able to do their job.
In other fun news, Steve Bannon was arrested. Seems old Stevie was stealing money via a campaign he set up. There’s a name for that, what is it? Wire fraud? Money laundering? Embezzlement? Something like that.
Apparently, he set up a GoFundMe campaign to get people to donate money to help build the wall that Mexico was going to pay for. Instead, of using the money for that he siphoned it off for his personal use. Imagine that?
Oh, it gets better. One prosecutor said this should be called, “Money Laundering for Dummies.” It turned out that the GoFundMe people told Bannon that he had to have a charity to give the money to. He couldn’t funnel it directly into his bank account. He set up a charity that sent it to a shell company that funneled it to his bank account. Eazy-Peezy.
So he gets arrested off the coast of Connecticut aboard a 165 foot yacht, which is owned by some Chinese guy. One hundred and sixty five feet is the length of the yacht Wayne LaPierre of the NRA rented, seems to be the length of choice.
I have to say Steve looked better than usual during his arrest. Turns out some of the money was used for plastic surgery. Ah me.
I guess he was getting spiffed up for his appearance at the RNC convention. I thought, “Hey, can’t he Zoom from his jail cell?” Not a problem, he posted the five million in bail. Don’t you wonder whose money he used?
No more bullshit.
