Day 546

Day 546 Thursday July 19, 2018 1,032 Days to Go

Donald Trump committed treason.
Donald Trump colluded with Russia.
Donald Trump knowingly obstructed justice.

These are now facts. There is nothing subtle about it. It’s text book. He did the first two right in front of your face at the Helsinki Summit. The last one he has been doing since January 6, 2017, two weeks before he was inaugurated.

On that day, January 6th, three officials from the intelligence agencies came to see the president elect and showed him clear evidence that Russia interfered in our election and that Vladimir Putin ordered it. These were Russian emails and memos showed without a doubt that they (the Russian government ordered by Putin) meddled in our election. What has Trump done since then? Lied. Lied to us, the American people. He’s called the Mueller investigation a witch hunt, when he knows very well it is not.

A witch hunt is when you go looking for things that aren’t there.
Examples of witch hunts are:
The 2nd Benghazi Hearing,
The 3rd Benghazi Hearing,
The 4th Benghazi Hearing,
The 5th Benghazi Hearing,
The 6th Benghazi Hearing,
The 7th Benghazi Hearing,
The 8th Benghazi Hearing,
The 9th Benghazi Hearing
because after the first hearing all the facts were known. The Republicans were desperate to pin something on Hillary and kept having hearing after hearing. I would posit that the last hearing was also a case of obstruction of justice because Trey Gowdy surreptitiously redacted statements to make it look like the opposite of what was said was indeed the truth, which it was not.

You can play the game of, “well it’s not treason because we aren’t at war with Russia,”
or
“It’s okay to lie to the American people, you just can’t lie under oath,”
or
“Trump must know something we don’t,”
or any of the myriad excuses he and his cabal have tried to foist off on us, but let me take a moment to respond to the three obvious excuses I have listed.
We are under attack from Russia. Our intelligence agencies, and the FBI, and various Attorney Generals have told us this – over and over again. If we wish to ignore it, as Trump and the Republicans in Congress wish to, that doesn’t mean it isn’t happening. In 2014 the first people were indicted for attacking us cyberly from a foreign state (China). They were named and charged. This is an attack. Russia upped the ante in the 2016 election. Who asked them to do it? Donald J. Trump. Who ordered it? Vladimir Putin.
Is it okay to lie to people as long as you aren’t under oath? Well, there was a case recently where this administration lied to the New York Times and was excused. There was also a case against Goldman Sachs that they did not act in the best interest of their clients and although ethically and morally bad it wasn’t illegal. Illegal was when Wells Fargo bullied their middle and lower level managers to make better numbers and those people set up phony accounts and drained money out of clients accounts. What happened? Why the people who did the bullying fired the people who carried out their wishes. So I give the lying to people a toss-up status legally. You can debate with yourself if you want the president of the United States to openly and knowingly lie to you.
Lastly, “He must know something” to which I say, “No, no he doesn’t.” Well, yes he does. He does know the truth because he was told it on January 6, 2017. He has chosen to ignore it, to lie about it, to obfucate it, to create diversions, but he knows the truth. He has shown time and time again that he’s got nothing: no secret plan, in fact no plan at all except to “wing it.” His only interest is himself, of this there is no doubt, because all the evidence points to that. Period. Full stop.

In other news: Some are saying Mitch McConnell is caught up in the Russian thing. And those saying it are Republicans. Also, the Russian woman accused of being an unregistered agent of Russia? Her indictment says she was co-habitating with a 56 year old man. She’s 29. Nicole Wallace went crazy laughing. She said, “when a 29 year old Russian woman finds a 56 year old man fascinating, it probably isn’t love.” Said woman also complained about living with this guy. Who is he? Don’t know yet, but there is an investigation out in South Dakota about this fellow. Meanwhile we can look at all the pictures of this girl with all sorts of high level Republicans and gun lobby types.

Stay tuned.
