Day 924 Thursday July 18, 2019
473 Days until the 2020 election and 555 days until the Inauguration
Time to play catch up (ketchup? What’s up?)
At the beginning of the week the second person in the Trump orbit went on trial. He’s a business partner of Michael Flynn. He and Mike were involved in doing business with a foreign government and this guy made illegal political contributions. Mike as National Security Advisor saw no reason to inform the government of these things. Nor did he see any reason to let the FBI know he was taking phone calls from the Russian Ambassador to the U.S. But hey, what’s the big deal everybody does it! Am I right? (NO.)
Now we have two upcoming court things going on in D.C.
1 – At 11am much of the Michael Cohen search warrant stuff will be released to the public, but not all. They want to protect the privacy of some individual. Hum, wonder who that might be?
2 – At 11:30 Jeff Epstein gets to find out if he can go home to his mansion or has to stay in jail.
Since old Jeff has been in jail, more women have come forward saying he raped them when they were 14, 15, or 16.
Donald Trump has said he hardly knew the guy. Yet, there’s a tape of him paling around with Epstein. Oh and there are the 26 flights he took on Jeff’s jet. And there’s the calendar girl pageant where a whole bunch of young girls were enlisted to show up, for two guests! Yup, Jeff and Don. Hardly knew the guy. Threw him out of a club. Yeah, Right.
Oh, and on the day Robert Mueller was supposed to testify to Congress by sheer coincidence Donald held a rally in North Carolina. Seems these coincidences happen a lot – like every time Donald thinks there’s going to be something negative about him in the press. Maybe, that’s not correct, maybe it’s every time someone or something might take the spotlight off of him.
The House voted to table a resolution on whether to impeach the president based on his racist tweets that he issued over the weekend. He told four women elected to Congress that they should go back to their crime invested places from which they came. I guess he means Ohio, Minnesota, New York, and the Virgin Islands. I can’t speak about the first three places I named but the Virgin Islands? Yeah, what a hell hole. You know Jeff Epstein has an island there? Crime filled no doubt.
Meanwhile the House did vote to hold the Attorney General of the United States of America and the Secretary of Commerce in criminal contempt of Congress. I don’t know what that means in terms of what happens next, but I’m guessing it’s not good.
What else? Hum. The administration is continuing its efforts to dismantle our government. One has to wonder what will be left after this carnage. If you’re a small government conservative you gotta love this, I mean, if they keep going the way they are going there will be little or no real functioning of the government left, the judiciary will be owned by a bunch of knee jerk unqualified lawyers who will be taking their orders directly from the Koch brothers via the Federalist Society, and we will be so far in debt that they (the conservatives) will yell and scream that we have to cut entitlements (meaning Social Security, which they blithely ignore the truth that it is not an entitlement.) But it’s okay because the Christian conservatives will be convinced that the day of judgement will be upon us and so it won’t matter anyway.
Oh yes, the House voted to give Trump more money for the crisis he created at the border. You know for $750 a day you would think we could get soap to these folks. Hell, for $750 a day I’d p
ut them up in every five star hotel in the south west. I bet that would get action in a hurry.
“Excuse me Concierge Service? I just passed a filthy looking man with a horrible stench. He almost rubbed up against my Gucci handbag. What is going on?”
“I’m sorry Mame, but at $750 a day for these people (emphasis on “these people”) we can’t afford to give them soap. If only the government would give us more money…”
