Day 1219 – Crimes and Befuddlement

I was going to write about the most recent crimes of Donald Trump and his administration and then I saw the clip from Comedy Central. It showed people describing Trump’s behavior with clips illustrating what they were talking about. The commentators said it was probably getting laughs on Comedy Central, but they weren’t laughing, neither was I. I saw a man who was confused, addled, and who couldn’t form or read whole sentences. I saw a man who would get half way through a thought and couldn’t remember what he was saying, who struggled to try to complete what ever he had started out to say and have to resort to nonsense phrasing. It wasn’t funny. It was reality. The reality of Donald Trump.
Now, onto the most recent crimes. It’s all in a day over at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
Trump has now threatened two states with withhold money from them if they don’t do his bidding. Rachel pointed out that at his impeachment hearings there was a constitutional law professor who used this very example as a clear example of an impeachable offense.
Mike Pompeo apparently had dinners in the State Department for high rolling Republican donors. That is a political event on the government’s dime. That is illegal.
Donald Trump has threatened to withhold all money from the World Health Organization. While it may not be a crime, it certainly is stupid.
Meanwhile the pandemic rages in our country and we have no plan.
