As our country careens toward more catastrophe we are faced with more lies. I saw a back and forth between a friend of mine and a diehard Trump supporter. The diehard was trying to argue that you don’t know who to believe.
Yeah, Bunky, you may not know who to believe but those of us in the real world, the sane one, we’ve got a pretty good idea. And guess what? It ain’t the guy you helped put in the White House.
Speaking of which, the insanity and stupidity continues. Not to mention the cruelty, insensitivity, and complete disruption of any norms we thought we had as a democracy.
Mary Trump’s book characterized Donald’s lifestyle as “cheating as a way of life.” That pretty much sums it up doesn’t it? The true Trump believers can point fingers and say they don’t know who to believe but as the bodies add up, and conditions get worse and worse at some point I keep thinking …
Naw. Forget it. It won’t happen. Too bad Trump isn’t on a ship. Sorry. But then he and his believers could sail off under his direction.
I saw Mike Pence on TV yesterday. There he was with that home spun gee wilikers voice. I turned the channel. I discovered later he was delivering a blow to our education system. Threatening schools with withholding funds if they didn’t open up in the fall and let our kids die.
Then there’s Col. Vindman. He retired over bullying and intimidation. It’s amazing to me that Donald’s petty mean spirited way can cast such a wide net. But there you have it.
Meanwhile John Bolton is now talking. Coward. Plageriser. Didn’t testify when it counted and stole the name of his book from someone else.
I know. Time for the excuses.
Then there’s Sarah Cooper and her lip-synchs of Trump. She doesn’t make up anything verbally. All she does is lip-synch Trump’s exact words. You realize as you listen to her how absolutely crazy and nonsensical his speaking is. Trump has gotten away his whole life with cheating, lying, and BS-ing* Now there is little place to hide.
*The gerund of BS comes out BSing. (Bee Sing?) If I drop the “g” and add an apostrophe then I get BSin’ (Bee Sin? Really? Or could it be construed as “Blessed”?) There is no good way to write it. The hyphen is the best I guess. But it still looks like Sing.
Then there are the 19 boxes of Trump tax records that the NYT got that outline in great detail the fraud he carried out on the IRS and his own relatives.
Then there’s William Barr. I’ve heard people say things like, “I’ve known William Barr a long time and he’s a fine lawyer” or some such nonsense. Like those who think Bolton is some sort of diplomatic genius they miss the point. Barr has been and has made a point of being a toadie to those in power. Now he is helping destroy the fundamental basis of our democracy. Bolton talks big and mean, then you realize if you take a breathe how idiotic his thoughts and ideas are.
Ah me.
