Day 1350 – A Criminal Pardon, A Pardon Criminal?

There is this little thing I learned listening to the two Lawrences last night. Not Welk but O’Donnell and Tribe. Laurence Tribe wrote a piece for Financial Times which explored the idea that a president could be brought up on charges of criminal obstruction of justice if he pardoned someone in a quid quo pro for covering up some of the president’s crimes. Not only did Tribe say he should be charged, but he must be charged. Otherwise, there would be no limits on what a President could do once in power. Talk about a bad precedent.
I look forward to the coming months and hope that this comes to pass. We’ll watch the conservatives on the court try to tie themselves in knots to get around sending The Orange One to jail.
Ah me.
Most fun of all, if he pardons his family members they will not have the 5th amendment to hide behind. They will be forced to rat out their own father, or lie and go to jail for lying, or refuse to testify and go to jail until they decide to testify.
I also like Colin Powell’s suggestion that Michael Flynn should be brought up in a military court on charges of sedition.
In other news Rush Limbaugh has lung cancer. Too bad, so sad. I guess his bloviating will be reduced to a whisper soon.
Mike Pence will be called upon to do his duty to oversee the casting of ballots in the Electoral College. Will he do his duty? Or will he do something stupid, like what Louie Gohmert is suing him to do? Ignore the law, the Constitution, and precedent and seize power to install Trump as president?
Then there is Mike Flynn suggesting that the president declare Marshall Law and rerun the elections I swing states. (See Colin Powell suggestion above.)
Oh and we found VOTER FRAUD!
The Lieutenant Governor of Texas offered a million dollars for anyone to find examples of voter fraud. The reward wasn’t limited to the state of Texas.
Well boys and girls, we found it in Pennsylvania. Not only that but then they found more voter fraud. It was an increase of 50% over what they had previously found! It was all across the state! Yes, indeedy. Terrible.
For some reason the Lieutenant Governor of Texas is not paying up.
Specifics? You want specifics? I’ll give you specifics. A guy tried to cast a vote using his dead mother’s ballot. Not only that but he tried to vote himself twice! (He put on sunglasses the second time so no one would know who he was.) Charges have been filed. Ladies and Gentlemen this man is or will be soon found to be a criminal. He tried voting for Trump. Trump is a Republican. REPUBLICAN VOTER FRAUD!!! Ding. Ding. Ding. We got him prez and you too Lt. Gov. (“Pay up you cheapskate.”)
That’s not all! Another guy on the other side of Pennsylvania tried to vote his dead mother’s ballot. They got him. I don’t know if they hauled him out in chains or not. Guess what? He tried to vote for Trump too! REPUBLICAN VOTER FRAUD!!!
That’s an increase, as I already pointed out, of fifty percent. And it makes the REPUBLICAN VOTER FRAUD!!! All across the state.
Criminal. Lock them up!
Meanwhile 2.1 million people have been vaccinated and 11 million doses have been delivered. You may find this shocking but there is no real clear plan of how to get people vaccinated. Shocking, I know.
