Is Ground Zero giving me the finger?

Janis Joplin sang those words fifty years ago, and that was about the time Donald Trump was becoming “The Donald.” He has fooled and conned people all those years. He scammed his way onto the Fortune 400. He lied about his worth. He screwed over contractors and workers, refusing to pay them. He stole money under the guise of it being a university, a charity, and a political action committee. In the nineties Bloomberg estimated his net worth at $35 million when he was claiming over 400.
He had a TV show where he played being a successful businessman. He wasn’t. He had claimed the highest losses of any U.S. taxpayer for four years running, at close to a billion dollars each of those years. So to quote Jon Stewart, “The easiest way to have a small fortune is to start with a big one.” Mr. Trump certainly embodies that.
As his fortune dwindled his cons increased. His willingness to screw over family and associates goes back to the very earliest years. He then moved on to politics where he blamed everyone and anyone. His lack of patriotism goes back to his faking a medical conditon to avoid the draft. He finds those that gave their lives to defend this country “suckers and losers.” He doesn’t want to visit graveyards of the fallen and finds those maimed and disabled by war gross and doesn’t want to see them or be around them. He sides with Putin and other dictators over his own staff. He has called for the former joint chiefs of staff to be executed.
While this civil trial will ruin him financially it will be the criminal trials that should put him behind bars for good.
However, there are many that still believe the con and some ask why they still believe. They have been lured to false hopes, false statements presented as fact, and many while choosing to listen to these purveyors of lies there are many places in this country where that is all there is to listen to.
I ran into some Trump trolls yesterday on FB. Not even worth responding to them they are so ingrained with his lies. To me he comes across as that mean kid in grade school that was always looking for a fight. How in god’s name people can buy into his schtick is beyond me. I will never forget the number of wealthy people on our Viking cruise across Europe who supported him. It is not just the low brows who support this jerk, it also is well educated people high brows who stand behind him. The cruise was phenomenal but being on a small boat with that many Trump supporters was uncomfortable.
