Day 1459 – REMOVE HIM NOW!

January 7, 2021 by Rick Kinnaird 1 Comment

Thursday January 7, 2021 ( Electoral College Certification Day -1,

                                           Insurrection Day -1,

                                          Georgia Senate Election  -2 )

Election Day -65

13 Days until the Inauguration on January 20, 2021

He told you what he was going to do.

He did it.

Hoping for #47

And now some of you are surprised?

Please.

If the 25th Amendment hasn’t been enacted; do it now. Get the nuclear football away from this man and then we can talk.

If you are a Trump supporter you have a choice:

Stand with The United States of America,

Or

Stand with Trump.

Stand for Democracy,

Or

Stand for authoritarianism.

Stop. Don’t lecture me about socialism and the danger of Pelosi or AOC. Just stop.

He told you who he was and what he was long ago.

He used the same words to sell himself to you that he used to sell Trump University.

Ask yourself this, “What has he promised you that he has delivered on?”

The only people he delivered for were the ultra-rich whom he and his Republican enablers gave the largest tax break in history and deepened our national debt.

People who worked for him before he was president told you who he was.

People who worked for him when he was president told you who he was.

He told you who he was. He told you what he was going to do.

Now he’s done it.

Stop it. Stop him.

Enough.

We can not risk a day more of this.

Every time you think it can’t get worse it has.

Stop it. Stop deluding yourselves. Stop saying that it’s only a little more time.

REMOVE HIM NOW!

PS Ironically, I got this in the mail yesterday. I hope it is wrong and Biden is #47.

Day 1458 – Will Mike Do the Right Thing? (And what is that?)

January 6, 2021 by Rick Kinnaird 2 Comments

Wednesday January 6, 2021 ( Electoral College Certification Day,

                                          Georgia Senate Election  -1 )

Election Day -64

14 Days until the Inauguration on January 20, 2021

In less than an hour the Senate is supposed to convene and the Vice President is supposed to preside over the counting of the ballots of the Electoral College.

Satan hopes Mike “will do the right thing.” I’m guessing what he means by that is that Mike will take out his sharpie pen and scratch out Biden’s name and put in Satan’s. Whatever it is won’t matter because Mike will get savaged by Satan. He will be branded as disloyal and spineless. Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.

Snow? Sleet? Earth Rotation?
Butt Dial?

Meanwhile Joe Biden will officially be certified as becoming President of the United States of America on January 20, 2021. I choose these words carefully because I don’t want to say, “next.” There is still a chance that Satan will be either impeached and removed from office or the VP with the cabinet will remove him.

Meanwhile, we are waiting to see if the Sedition Caucus comes through with their threat, in which case I hope the Sergeant at Arms arrests each and everyone and throws them in jail.

We are also waiting on the final tally from Georgia on the Ossoff Perdue race. Currently Jon Ossoff leads with a little over 17,000 votes. There are mail-in ballots to count from Fulton and DeKalb counties. I think the number is around 25,000 and those counties vote about 83-85% Democratic.

Bye-Bye Mitch.

This brings me back to a recurring thought, “What is it that McConnell is doing to help the American people?” He liked to talk about “the American People” a lot when he was not the majority leader. Once he took power he seemed to forget about them as he blocked every piece of legislation that would have helped them and instead focused on ramming through unqualified right-wing judges that will help to screw up the judiciary for decades to come.

I have right wing friends who post pictures of Don, Melania, and Baron saying they’ve been through a lot and we should feel sorry for them. Hey, what about us? I mean anyone could have done a better job of the Corona virus response than our current president. Then there’s the worrying about Pelosi and AOC and socialism. Meanwhile those same people are talking about their social security checks and their retirement pensions. Do they think Republicans got them that stuff? Do they realize that old man Dupont and Walton were forced to pay? Dupont with a pension package and Sam Walton with overtime, which btw he threatened to fire anyone who cashed the check. Who do they think forced them to do that? Not McConnell and his ilk. No it was people like FDR and Truman.

PS WTF? Me don’t know.

Day 1457 – War! God! Satan!

January 5, 2021 by Rick Kinnaird Leave a Comment

Tuesday January 5, 2021 ( 1 Day to The Electoral College Certification,

Today is the Georgia Senate Election )

Election Day -63

15 Days until the Inauguration on January 20, 2021

Somehow I managed to flip the days on the Electoral College certification and the Georgia Senate runoff election. It has been corrected in today’s screed.

It hard to know where to begin. I received a seven page photocopied full paged collated and stapled which stated on page 1. “REPENT REPENT REPENT”

Repent!
It’s all there

This was placed not in the mailbox but in the little opening below the mailbox where circulars are usually placed. I had numerous questions about this action:

Was I the only one who received this?

If so was it a mistake?

Or was it specifically for me?

Later on it stated that Trump was Satan.

I was beginning to warm up to this epistle.

I hadn’t read more and mentioned to my wife that probably Putin was Lucifer. She confirmed this. What? Oh yes, it’s all in there.

I read more this morning. Lots of numbers. Turns out they are using gematria, a word I didn’t know. It’s a Hebrew numerology thing. A=1 … Z=26. You can then look at the letters in a word, assign numbers, add them up and reach startling conclusions.

Trump is Lucifer

Those into pot will recognize this clever device because M=13 and that’s the first letter in Marijuana. Get it? Clever, no? No. Okay. Nevermind.

Why curse someone when you can just say, “6+21+3+11 25+15+21”

(It is left to the student at lab time to figure out the answer.)

Some people just don’t know how to curse. Personally, I’d just say, “102.” Maybe, “41 61” because it’s two words. Kinda get a cadence going, “41 61 56 hut hut hut” I don’t know. It’s a lot of work. (56 is the total of 19+8+9+20 in case you wanted to know.)

Trump is Satan
Make up your mind!

Update: From the neighborhood Facebook group, “I see our overzealous, ultra religious nut job is killing trees again. Where can we burn this garbage?”

And I thought I was special.

Now we get to the Georgia runoff. It’s an interesting problem the Republicans keep putting them selves in. Kind of like painting yourself in a corner and then saying, “Screw it,” and walking on the fresh wet paint and tracking it all through the house.

First, they yell and scream that the election (or whatever) is a fraud. So they set up a commission or agency or deputy to oversee whatever it is. Then the event to be overseen happens and there is no fraud, but they loose. There has to be fraud they reason because they didn’t win. Therefore the loser attacks the people who oversaw the election. Now that person overseeing is a Republican. So the loser and the overseer are at each others throats. Nice.

In Georgia the Secretary of State and his deputy have had to continually defend the results of the presidential election to the president who lost. They’ve had the election, the first recount, the second recount, the audit, the court cases and the results have been the same. Satan lost.

This Secretary of State in Georgia is not paragon of virtue. He’s been behind the usual and most egregious of Republican voter suppression tactics available to him. He’s thrown people off the voting roles, limited early voting, restricted voting hours and done all he could to assure a Republican victory. But, it didn’t happen and he has now defended the results.

This has prompted Trump to call him up and ask that he find enough votes to overturn the election.

This is illegal, both Federally and according to Georgia state law. There’s an attorney general in the county Trump targeted that said she’ll enforce the law.

We’ll see.

So Donald is getting squeezed from the north in New York and now in the south from Georgia.

Apparently, he’s called all the swing states trying to get them to overturn their elections results. Will he succeed? In court he’s batting 0-59, so it looks bad for The Donald.

In fact, it looks real bad. However, he’s got a bunch of Senators and Congresspeople who are willing to vote against a free and fair election. There’s a name for that – Sedition. In fact, they are now called the Sedition Caucus. Hopefully they will all be tried, thrown in jail and kicked out of office.

The Senate Sedition Caucus

Some ask, “Can the president be impeached again?” I say, “Hell, yes.” And we should do it. Apparently, if you are impeached and voted out of office you can’t run for office again. At least, that’s what some have said. I hope they’re right.

The House Sedition Caucus

Okay. Enough. Now to – WAR!

That’s right. There’s a war abrewing or afoot. Either way it could be messy (Getting your foot stuck in the brew is not a good idea.) McDonald’s started it by announcing a new chicken sandwich. How will the others respond? This could be “THE GREAT CHICKEN SANDWICH WAR of 2021”.

This raises the question of which party which sandwich or establishment backs. Chick-fil-a is believed to be Trumpers.

Day 1456 – Was It Offensive?

January 4, 2021 by Rick Kinnaird 4 Comments

Monday January 4, 2021 ( 1 Day to The Electoral College Certification,

2 Days to the Georgia Senate Election )

Election Day -62

16 Days until the Inauguration on January 20, 2021

There has been some back channel discussion with me that my comments about Megan Thee Stallion might be taken as offensive racially or as body shaming. I get that. And I guess they could be, but let me say this. She is the one playing off the stereotypes. I am only pointing out the fact.

I don’t think putting your worst foot or bottom forward is a good idea. I find it uncouth. You can do it obviously, but don’t count me in as saying it’s cool, because I find it unappealing.

There’s a lot of little things that I find distasteful and thus try to avoid: poor grammar, bad manners, flashy cheap: jewelry and cars, grossness in general. Yes, you can do those things and I guess you can argue it’s your right – blah blah blah. But really? Whatever happened to savoir-faire or subtlety or being suave or debonaire? What’s wrong with a little restraint? I’ve tried to do that in many of my posts, but sometimes I go over the line and call it out for what it is – distasteful.

I know some people think arriving in a limo means they are classy. Or wearing a tux with tails, and having a cane and white gloves. It’s not. Sorry.

Maybe I should have said, “I find Ms Stallion’s repertoire to be extremely limited. Her fashion sense lacking, and her language uncouth. Her knowledge is also limited it seems. I do have to hand it to her she knows how to promote herself.” Maybe, that would have made the point too?

Maybe.

Moving on to minor things like SEDITION, which is defined via a google look up as:

“Sedition is a serious felony punishable by fines and up to 20 years in prison and it refers to the act of inciting revolt or violence against a lawful authority with the goal of destroying or overthrowing it.”

The question many have been asking is “Are Satan and his followers guilty of sedition?” This would now include members of the Senate and the House. Answer: Yes.

What should be done? They should be tried, found guilty and shot. Given the new rules by the Barr Justice Department we can now kill people without going through all of due process, just the parts we feel like doing. If we don’t shoot them immediately I say give ‘em 20 years.

In not really surprising news the White House has released a tape where the president is trying to get Georgia to cheat and overturn its election results. When they won’t do what Satan wants he threatens them. He sites stuff and they tell him his information is wrong.

Meanwhile, Ted Cruz and who ever that fresh faced idiot Senator is and the new no nothing from Alabama Tommy Tubberville or what ever his name is are going to challenge the Electoral College vote counting the day after tomorrow.

Well, that will be a lesson in constitutional mechanics.

Hopefully, by then both of the Republican candidates in Georgia will have lost.

Otherwise we are screwed.

Hey, remember when government used to at least try to help us?

The good old days.

They could come back.

Happy Happy Happy

Day 1455 – Thank God, It’s Almost Over!

January 3, 2021 by Rick Kinnaird 5 Comments

Sunday January 3, 2021 ( 1 Day to The Electoral College Certification,

2 Days to the Georgia Senate Election,

3 Days since another round of crappy NYE shows )

Election Day -61

17 Days until the Inauguration on January 20, 2021

Where to start? The biggest non-drama coming up is the certification of Joe Biden in the Electoral College process, unless it’s not. Here the drama is two fold: Will Mike Pence do nothing, which is his job in this case and something he has proven over and over again that he is very adept at, or will he try to be the leader of an insurrection foisted upon us by the far right nut jobs? Will Ted Cruz actually lead a bunch of numb-nuts to attempt to overturn our democracy? Will someone in Washington have some stones to actually arrest these yahoos? ( Nancy Pelosi being the only one who has shown any backbone, but I think this is a bridge too far for her. )

Then comes the Georgia Senate races. OMG! Stop! I’ve given you money. 10,000 emails a day isn’t helping your cause. No more “Humbly Asking”, no more “The Fate of the Senate rests on Georgia”, no more “Warnock loses”, “We’re packing our bags”, “Final Ask”, “Quadruple your match” – please enough.

I still find it staggering that the Dems lost so many other senate races. However, 538 posted something that said people tend to vote based on tribe not on issue. Therefore, it doesn’t matter what the facts are. Stacey Abrams is correct to try and register new voters because the old ones ain’t changing their allegiance, as we have seen time and again in Kentucky with McConnell, or in Maine with Collins.

Now let’s look back at another year end of TV New Year’s Eve celebrations, which was the worst? I know, hard to say right? What were the highlights? I think the reporting says Anderson Cooper being drunk on national TV. I don’t know I kind of missed that performance.

Cindy Lauper certainly gets the Mariah Carey award for worst performance by a has-been. Some asked if she was trying to imitate a white Teletubby? I don’t know, but it was strange and off-key. Then she was singing with that black guy with the big coat with the giant shoulder pads. What’s up with that? Oh he’s Billy somebody and he was in Kinky Boots with her. Okay, got it.

Mona Mona Lisa (moan)

Then there’s Megan Thee Stallion. I got to hand it to her. She a no talent, chunky, uneducated, unsophisticated black woman who has managed by sheer audacity (I guess) to make a name for herself. I mean it takes a lot of guts to stand up on national TV in a skin tight human flesh full body yoga suit and turn your fat ass to the camera and do a few mountain climbers while some music is playing. Oh that’s right she had a mic and said some sound over and over again so they now call that a song. This “singing” seems to be her trademark performance style. She ought to have a lot of songs because you know there are a lot of sounds out there. Am I right? Am I right? Let’s hear it for me! OMG. I first became aware of her when she was on SNL. I think I fell asleep and was awoken by a kind of firecrackers string sound of a drum and a repetitive phrase being uttered. On stage was a woman with ample décolletage arranged to look like a shelf due I guess to a massive push up bra. This woman was jumping a bit up and down in time to the thumping of the firecracker sound. The effect of her jumping was her flesh on the top part of her tits jiggled. This seemed to be the whole routine. (I mean you could get the same effect by buggy whipping an old lady with four turkey necks and a low cut summer dress and a jiggly chest.) Then it was over.

Next I heard about her when she got into a fight on instagram or twitter or somewhere with her hair stylist and makeup person over who really does her make up. This passes for news. It’s like the guy in the Geico ad who is supposed to be helping people not become like their parents. “You got up at 5am. Nobody cares.”

In the case of old Megan someone must care because she keeps showing up. I’ll say this for her. She was on the playbill on two of the New Year’s Eve shows. One was the aforementioned live performance and the other was a pre-recorded video. I mean if you’ve got no talent then the New Year’s Eve shows is the place to flaunt it. Whatever you want to say about Megan you can’t deny that she flaunts “it.” I guess that makes her a flauntist?

Speaking of pre-recorded, Sting seems to make it on most NYE performances. He was in a wide brimmed hat and hobbling around with a cane. At first, I thought the cane was part of the performance. But now? I don’t think so.

The best performances? Hum. Miley Cyrus did a good job. She was dressed in a goth black leather nihilist rage outfit. Very nice. Her song was good. I mean, she sang, in tune, you could understand the words. Also, Miley’s sister did well too. Who knew she had a sister? Two actually. The sister who sang has long back hair parted in the middle. I’m guessing she’s going for the Buffy St. Marie award.

Hannah Montana is long gone, but there’s new entrant in the perky Disney young girl category, Jo Jo somebody or other. My nine year old niece hates her. That’s a good sign. Jo Jo, I saw on a Christmas special. She was at her house in Kansas, (I think it was Kansas or Nebraska.) She had 16 Christmas trees. They looked like they had been decorated by the same people who decorate the malls. Perfect and lifeless. As for Jo Jo, she was perky and friendly. Riding around on a one wheel thingee, showing off her Christmas crap. In between they showed clips of her dance singing routines – very perky, very pink and sparkly. It was fitting. I hope I don’t read about her going into rehab in a few years.

In other news, we watched the Bee Gees documentary on Netflix, which was very good. I didn’t realize the breadth of their work and length of their careers. The youngest Gibb, Andy, I saw on Broadway in Joseph and The Amazing Colored Dreamcoat. He was okay, but his voice wasn’t very strong, and came out like more of a whisper. The show features a genie who was played by a young black woman and who had to really hold back so as to not blow Mr. Gibb off the stage. Andy died of a heart attack and got very involved in the Hollywood drug scene. The two twins that made up two thirds fo the group have also died – cancer. Very sad. Heavy drinking by one. He was married to Lulu for awhile. She couldn’t take the level of alcohol and got out after four years. She’s still alive! That leaves the oldest one, Barry. Down in Miami. They were in the house where Clapton recorded 461 Ocean Boulevard. The documentary showed Barry walking to the fence by the ocean and looking out. His once wonderful hair, now a wet combed down insipid nothing. Unrecognizable, he was to me. I’m sure he misses his brothers everyday. Sad, very sad. I had no idea that Barbra Streisand called them up and asked to work with them. Nor Celion Dion, or many more. They wrote over 1,000 songs. Now I can’t get one or two out of my head.

I saw that someone is creating art with toilet paper tubes. Like the ice water challenge I decided to join in. ( Okay, I didn’t do the ice water challenge. ) But here is a great work of TPT art! Enjoy.
