141 Days until the election on November 3rd
221 Days until the Inauguration on January 20, 2021
Time for a little humor, and by little I mean small ball, dark, gallows style. This is the only thing that has made me sit up bent over and laugh.
Are you ready? Here goes.
Stephen Miller is going to write Trump’s speech to bring people together.
This after the demonstrations in the streets about Black Lives Matter.
Stephen Miller is going to write the speech.
That has to be the saddest, sickest thing this administration has done yet, and we’ve got five months to go! Seven if you count to Inauguration, and some folks are wondering if he’ll willingly give up the reins of power! (Don’t do that – please. Don’t give him any ideas.)
Some might wonder if Trump or his sons are racist. I mean they put out white nationalist, Ku Klux Klan, Fascist, Nazi slogans, memes, and themes (Hey, memes and themes – it rhymes – I like it.) But they’ll walk them back with some excuse, like: “I didn’t know,” “Really? Well, it’s a true non the less,” etc. But Miller? Whoa baby, ain’t no walking’ back with this dude. Let’s remember he started at Duke in his most stirring support of the working poor by saying you shouldn’t pick up your own trash because you were taking work away from the janitors.
Stephen reminds me of the social outcast kid that no one wants to play with. He plots his revenge on the cool kids and finally gets his big break working for a Senator in Alabama. He gets to write that Senator’s racial policy and it’s hateful. Surprise! He continues failing up the political food chain writing awful, hurtful racist policies against the poor, the brown, the black, the disenfranchised, the immigrant – why? Because he’s trying to cobble favor with the rich ad powerful with whom he is trying ever so desperately to curry favor.
He’s still the kid on the outside. Try as he might. Along the way he’s picked up various slogans and terms which he can throw out to those in the know (ie those who agree with him on racist, anti-this and that themes.) I mean you can’t put in an email to just anyone “Camp of the Saints” and expect them to get it. (Look it up.)
Pepe the Frog – was picked up by the regular press after Eric Trump (or was it Don Jr.?) used it. I mean you can understand that one quite easily. But “Camp of the Saints”? You gotta really dig deep for that kind of hateful stuff. But Stephen can!
Yeah, he’s gonna write a kumbaya moment in a speech to bring us all together. A speech where we can see our better selves. A speech where we will all feel as one. Maybe for only a brief fleeting moment. Give me an f’ing break. This guy couldn’t say a kind thing about … well anything. And yet he’s found a woman who is willing to marry him. Thank god. Maybe she’ll knock some of the hateful edges off of him. I don’t know – maybe.
So the president is going to Tulsa for a rally. Many have speculated and wondered if he understands the symbolic significance of Tulsa in the history of race in this country. I didn’t or I had forgotten or I never knew. I don’t give Trump much credence as being that symbolic or knowing. The people around him? People like Miller? Oh yeah, for sure. But Trump? Naw. Maybe? Who knows? Well, I wonder what that arena will look like that night. Many big name acts have cancelled or pushed out their dates because of the coronavirus. Not Donnie! But he did put up a thing saying, “Hey don’t sue me if you get sick.”
So this goes to the heart to the matter. It’s really what Republicanism is all about, has always been about, but now the mask is off.
“You should be willing to die so I can make a buck.”
“Hey, maybe you won’t die. Good for you. Listen, I got mine; you get yours.
“Good Luck.
“Look, I like the blacks … “

PS The Death Pit at Cancuen where the bodies of the royal family were thrown after the people had had enough (or something like that.) Have a nice day :)!
