Day 611 – Remember the Comet People?

September 20, 2022 by Rick Kinnaird 1 Comment

Babylonians
Kicking A**

Tuesday, September 20, 2022

Do you remember the cult that were found dead in a house in LA?

They thought a spaceship was in the tail of a comet. Two of the members went to Radio Shack and bought a telescope, only to return it because they weren’t able to see the spaceship in the comet’s tail. Obviously, the scope was faulty.

Today I was reading an article about one of the fake electors in Georgia who claimed she only spent a few minutes in a county office where a forensic audit of the voting machines was going on by one of the Republican Trump team election denying folks. The video tape shows she was there for four hours and contrary to her claim of only being in the front office for a few minutes she was in the back where the “audit” was going on.

Okay. So? I got to wondering what happens when your belief gets upended by reality?

If you claim the election was rigged and you go time and time again to prove it and there is no evidence of your claim, then what?

We’ve seen one example – Qanon. The ex-president has gone full in on that loony cult.

I guess it makes sense in that he can’t keep trying to operate in the real world.

In the last ten days three books have come out of significance about all this lunacy and its antecedents:

David Corn wrote one pointing out that this bigoted racist stuff that the Republicans are spouting has been festering in the U.S. for decades. (Ken Burns is pointing it out in his three part piece on the Holocaust and the U.S.)

Geoffrey Berman has one out called “Holding the Line” talking about how Trump and his flaks tried to drive him out of office. He wouldn’t go and had to be fired thus avoiding Barr or Trump from appointing anyone they wanted to take his place.

Now the book The Divider comes out and it chronicles just how ignorant and stupid Trump was in the Presidency. He didn’t know Finland was not part of Russia. He offered the West Bank to the Saudis (who didn’t want it). He didn’t know the difference between the Baltics and the Balkans. His ignorance is stunning, and dangerous. Those in his party knew this and failed to act. Now our democracy is in peril. Thanks all.

Oh, and now, one of Trump’s lawyers is being reported in NYT that he told Trump taking those documents would “get him in legal jeopardy,” and Trump took them anyway. What? He didn’t know. Uh, sorry, he returned half of them remember? Kinda blows the “I didn’t know” argument. Maybe he only half knew? Like being kinda pregnant?

Liz Cheney said in the cloak room on Jan 6th there were sign up sheets for people willing to say the election was not won by Biden. She watched one of her colleagues sign the papers saying this what we do for orange Jesus. She watched this person committing a crime and willingly admitting to it as he was doing it.

And then Trump posts something about it being a disgrace where Biden was seated at the funeral of the Queen, and if he were President this wouldn’t have happened. Jimmy Kimmel remarked that he was happy to see that Trump admitted he wasn’t President.

If he had been President at the time of the Queen’s funeral I think the Brits would have handled it with stiff upper lip and seated Trump right at the front of the casket in Whitehall or somewhere, along with a stand in for Prince Charles – I mean King Charles. It would have been great. Oh well.

Maybe, he could have been in-between Mr. Bean and John Cleese?

So much to ponder.

Day 610 – Let’s Count the … What? Suits? Subpoenas?

There’s no news today because they are burying the queen. Come on Jon Stuart, we need you now more than ever.

In other news:

There was a picture of the orange one standing on a golf course with a bunch of hangers on. No clubs. It was a light drizzle. WTF was going on?

In other unanswered questions – he hasn’t said why he took those documents, nor why he didn’t return them when asked.

But let’s move on. One smart lawyer person said that perhaps the reason he has’t been charged is because there is too much evidence. When do you stop? Typically, when you’ve exhausted all the evidence. In this case that may never happen.

Okay, but lets count:

3 Federal cases we know of,

2 NY cases,

1 Georgia case.

Let see. As a rough guess he should get life in prison or a firing squad.

Okay, moving on: three governors have been involved in human trafficking and kidnapping. The penalty for Human Trafficking is 5 years per victim. In the case of the people flown to Martha’s vineyard that was like 50 people. So 250 years for both the Teas governor and the Florida governor as the people started in Texas and flew to Florida. het, should we throw in conspiracy? Some say it’s not human trafficking because there was no intent to exploit, to which I call BS.they wanted to use them politically.

And those two, being the classless guys they are made sure no one knew where they were being dropped off. Please, enough with the how do the liberal states like this sh*t? argument. If they really wanted to help these people they would have coordinated with those states. But they didn’t. Just like they say a ten year old girl who is pregnant has to carry the pregnancy to term. That’s fine until it’s their daughter.

Now as to the people in congress who did not vote to certify the last election I think they should all be charged with trying to overthrow the democracy, kicked out of office and banned from serving, and thrown in jail for 20 years.

Hey, in other news, I love the ads that were on TV this weekend bemoaning the high price of gas: $7, $6, $5.

Cool. Gas around here is $3.83. and it’s all due to President Biden!!!

What? You say no? Hold on Bunky, weren’t you the ones blaming him when the prices went up? Uh huh. Uh huh. So you gotta give him props when the prices came down. Yes, even if he had little to do with it. Just like he had little to do with the prices going up.

You know what really gets me? People who don’t like Biden and the Dems, blame them for all kinds of things; yet they have pensions and Social Security and Medicare – all things the Dems brought about and the Republicans fought against.

Ron DeSantis – Kidnapping? Human Trafficking?

Same for Abbott and some other governor sending people north with no warning.

From my brief googling it seems human trafficking can’t be used because they weren’t sent to be exploited. I don’t know, I disagree. They were sent to be exploited – politically exploited. Kidnapping? Yeah. I think so. When is the FBI going to break down their doors, cuff ‘em and make them stand out in the heat for awhile?

Now to T rump, well the problem is that he’s committed so many crimes they can’t seem to wrap it up.

But the judge who has interfered in the Mar-a-Lago search has made two horrible decisions. The problem with getting a special master to look over the documents is that the special master is part of the judiciary. The executive branch decides what is classified, not the judiciary. The ultimate arbiter is the head of the executive branch – the President, not the previous president, the current president.

Another thing I don’t understand – the backup of all those cargo ships in Los Angles Harbor. Oh wait, there is no backup because the President fixed it. But what about the train strike? Oh wait, the President intervened and ended it before it started. What about gas prices? Oh they are down too? But the President has nothing to do with it. True, but if you were blaming him when it was up,  you gotta give him credit when it came down. Health care? Don’t you like the Republican plan better? No? Why not? They never had one, and they have consistently voted to block anything that would help people. Infrastructure? Remember T rump had how many announced infrastructure weeks? After the announcements? – Nothing. But Biden? He got it done. And let’s not forget the Republican voted against it, but they sure wanted to take credit for it after it passed! Biden’s rating remains in the 40s, why? I guess doing the job is boring. Wouldn’t you rather have someone who made lots of announcements and promises and did nothing?

How about dropping people off randomly with no warning? The right media is saying Harris did nothing when several busloads were dropped off at the Naval Observatory, the Vice Presidential residence. Well, what would you expect? No one was told. There is a group that waited at Union Station, having been informed two busloads were coming to DC. Thank goodness it didn’t happen under the Rump admin. They’d be out there until the Dems came into power.

In another boofo idea is that all the students from Florida at Harvard, MIT, Yale and all those northern schools where people like DeSantis got educated, should be bused back to Florida and dropped off at – oh, I don’t know – Florida State? Mar-a-Lago? The Governor’s Mansion?

And if those governors send more buses north? i think they should be rerouted to Fox HQ and to Tucker Carlson’s house. Places where good Christians can show their empathy. Like the ten year old pregnant girl being forced to carry her pregnancy to term. Think of this as an opportunity.

Okay. I’m done. Thank you for your attention.

Day 601 – Did anything happen yesterday? Oh yes.

The queen died.

At times like this what can one do? What can one hope for?

I’ll tell you what – Jon Stewart.

I want to hear Jon mimicking the Queen’s voice. Maybe in a seance with a ouija board?

“Hello? Hello? Yes, it’s me, Queen Elizabeth. I’m not Queen anymore. You see I’m dead. How’s everybody getting along? Charlie is now king. Oh dear. That means Camilla is the king’s consort or some such I suppose. You know I do agree with that lady who said about her and Diana that usually you trade in the old hag for the pretty younger person, not the other way round. Charlie never was too bright. Oh dear, I fear for the monarchy. I do. Gotta go. I’m next in line to get in. Pearly Gates you know. they do look a bit shabby. Nothing a bit of gold leaf couldn’t fix. I don’t know if they serve tea up here. Might run right thorough me. To-dah-loo!”

In the only other news, wait two bits of news, so first bit second:

The DOJ sent a brief to the judge offering her a way out of her ridiculous judgement. Basically they said that they need to have the 100 classified documents precluded from the special master request because the documents belong to the government not Donald Trump. He stole them. So having someone judge whether they should go back to him is stupid. (or alternatively they could have argued “seeing as how he says the FBI planted them, he can’t have them because he never had them.”)

They also pointed out that the FBI investigates both National Security matters and criminal matters so ya see the same people are doing those things and you can’t ask one to stop and let the other go forward because the same agency and people in that bureau and at the head of that bureau are charged with doing both of those things. They are linked together and can’t be separated. This is kind of like explaining to Reagan that once a nuclear missile is launched it can’t be recalled, a fact he didn’t understand.

So what did the judge do? She sent a note to the Trump team asking, “Hey, what do you think?”

Can’t wait to see what that pack of legal beagles says. (We could game it out, but let’s wait and see. Oh hell, game it out:

Either they say, “We agree.” or they say, “Oh no, they are little hands Donnie’s” To which the DOJ will tear ‘em apart. As in “Oh yeah? How do you figure? Please indulge me…” )

The second bit is Steve Bannon. I saw him in cuffs! This is so weird. He goes to the courthouse or wherever in New York. Then they put him in cuffs and march him down the hallway. All the while he’s crying out about something. When he was outside the courthouse he stopped to wag his finger and try to explain why…

Lemme explain something to you Steve-a-rino, if you ask people for money and you tell them that it’s all goi to be used for what you are asking them to give you the money and you take that money and put it in your bank account that’s called fraud. You go to jail for fraud. Get it?

Oh, and here’s the real beauty of this situation. First off you can be charged in New York for the same crimes you committed and were charged with in Federal court. I know. I know. Double Jeopardy! Terrible. Terrible. I don’t know how George Soros did it to poor old Steve, but he must have because Steve said so! I wasn’t sure why or how, but then it was explained to me as the “blame a Jew” defense. Got it.

But here’s the real cool thing. See Bannon was pardoned by Trump – BEFORE HE WENT TO TRIAL.

Therefore, even if NY didn’t have the law saying they can try you for the same crime you committed and were tried for in Federal Court that doesn’t matter because he never went to trial. There is no double-jeopardy, because there was no Federal trial.  I love it.

“I do too.”

Is that you Lizzie?

“Yes, waiting my turn. Ta-tah.”

Day 599 – What’s the Big Deal?

September 8, 2022 by Rick Kinnaird Leave a Comment

Wednesday, September 8, 2022

Okay so he had boxes and boxes of classified and top secret documents lying around. And yes, some were so secret that few people would be able to get eyes on them.

So, why isn’t he in chains?

Steve Bannon is getting indicted in New York. He got out of the Federal crimes because DT pardoned him, but he had three other guys in on it. What happened to them?

The breathtaking lunacy of what is going on here. No wonder Ozzie went back to the UK. As he said, “he didn’t want to die in crazy America.”

Well talk about crazy, J D Vance who is running for the senate in Ohio has scheduled a rally this weekend – AT THE SAME TIME THE BUCKEYES ARE PLAYING! He might as well say he likes Indiana. Talk about out of touch.

With the latest revelations about Trump’s raid Neal Katyal said it best, channeling Bill Hayder’s SNL character Stephane, “Mar-a-Lago has it all: wedding facilities, a pool, nuclear secrets …”

The Obamas had their official portraits unveiled yesterday. We were a bit surprised. Didn’t they already have official portraits? Kehinde Wiley did a great one of Obama. I looked it up. Those portraits go in The National Portrait Gallery. Glad to have cleared that up.

The Official Portraits

I keep thinking about Hershel Walker and his statement, “I’ve done a lot of things in my life.” He has and he wants to be Senator, I guess, because it will be another thing he has done in his life. I don’t think that’s enough to justify becoming a senator. And Dr Oz and Vance? What about them? Seems like Mitch is trying to mold three more rubber stamps.

The National Gallery Portraits

I saw an article that said Shaq got an MBA so people wouldn’t think he’s dumb jock. While I appreciate the thought he kind of shoots himself in the foot by saying the Earth is flat and you can reduce your gas consumption by putting twenty dollars in your tank every time it’s half empty.

And what about the Trumps official portraits? I’m thinking postage stamp size. Something real classy with lots of gold and red.

A Trump Portrait

OMG! I was kidding but they have one! He doesn’t look as fat as he is in real life.
